The goal of the schools in the KIPP New Orleans Schools network is to support students to and through college. The unique promise of KIPP Renaissance High School, the inaugural high school in our network, is do whatever it takes to prepare each and every student to qualify for TOPS, Louisiana’s merit-based scholarship program. Additionally, KIPP Renaissance students will earn up to 21 college credits – while in high school – through a combination of dual-enrollment, Advanced Placement coursework and online instruction.
KIPP Renaissance High School places tremendous credence in the stimulating learning environment and family like atmosphere for which KIPP schools, in New Orleans and across the country, are well-known. Students will receive ample one-on-one attention and tailored instruction from committed, innovative teachers. Always going ‘the extra mile,’ KIPP teachers share their cell phone numbers with students and parents, and make themselves available for nightly assistance.
KIPP Renaissance students will be members of small advisory groups freshman through senior year. With no more than a 15 to one teacher-student ratio, the groups, conceived as Round Tables, will meet daily. Advisors will write letters of recommendation when student are ready to apply to college. They’ll serve as the primary point of contact for families, as well.
